Saltee Islands -
Lying a short distance offshore from Kilmore Quay Harbour, The
Saltee Islands are a famous bird sanctuary which attract thousands
of amateur ornithologists yearly. Home to over 50,000 birds, which
include Puffin, Guillemot and the Gannet. Trips can be arranged
through the Hotel, or weather permitting, boats leave each morning
from the harbour. You can explore this fascinating island and its
surrounding coastline where a variety of seals can also be viewed
in their natural environment. |

Beaches -
Kilmore is noted for its miles of unspoilt
beaches, Ballyhealy, Seaview and Kilmore Quay are all ideal for
swimming. |

Guillemot Maritime Museum -
This lightship positioned in
the harbour has been converted into a maritime museum where a
number of fascinating 'sea antiques' are on display.
Other local interests
include Ballyteigue Nature Reserve, St
Patrick's Bridge, Ballyteigue Castle, the Harbour and the Lifeboat
